Many people say that life is a game. But could video games help us solve our real world issues? That’s an interesting question.

When you think of the time people dedicate to video games, spending hours solving puzzles and challenges, you can wonder if this same energy could not be used to bring new and innovative solutions to our society.

That’s exactly the point developed by Jane McGonigal in this great speech. Would it be possible to create an online video game, where players’ creativity would be used for overcoming issues we don’t always have the courage to face? And could it be possible to apply the ideas we invented in the game to our daily life?

This is certainly the $1,000,000 question!

Knowing why we do things is certainly the most crucial element that will be bring clarity and sense of purpose in our lives. Moreover, that will be the best way to sustain a constant effort, even when we feel tiredness or doubt (and those moments will happen in any project).

One other very positive aspect of knowing what is our intention, is the fact it allows us to communicate clearly to others. And ultimately, people will be able to know if they find a personal resonance in our creations. Here at “Indie Goes”, knowing WHY we do things has become a regular question. If we don’t find an exciting purpose in doing something, we simply don’t do it! 🙂
